Maureen Sanders

Maureen is a Specialist Dietitian registered with The Health professions Council (HPC) and a member of The British Dietetic Association. She attained her first degree in Social Biology at Surrey University and went on to study her Master’s degree in Nutrition and a Diploma in Dietetics with State Registration at King’s College London.

She has worked for over 20 years in the NHS and her interest and expertise in Eating Disorders has evolved in the last 14 years. She set up a Dietetic service to GPs in the central London area and it was during this time that she began to see patients with eating disorders. From then on she began to specialise in this area treating both young people and adults with a range of eating disorders as well as obesity. She has worked in specialist adult and adolescent eating disorders services in London, Surrey and Hampshire .She continues to work in the NHS as the Dietitian in a number of London based child and adolescent mental health eating disorders teams and a children’s weight management clinic.

Her interest and training in Sports Nutrition initially lead her to work privately with a number of athletes (ranging from the keen sportsperson to the elite variety). In her work in the field of eating disorders and obesity, she has been able to draw from this expertise. She has developed her private work in this area and regularly sees both adults and young people on an outpatient basis. She also has considerable experience working with inpatients having worked as the dietitian in a private London based inpatient eating disorders unit.

With training in counselling skills and systemic practice, Maureen has a psychological approach to treating clients and has developed her role working in a variety of multidisciplinary teams.
