Terms and Conditions

Cancellations and missed appointments

Please contact us as soon as possible to let us know if you would like to cancel an appointment. Should you cancel with less than 48 hours notice before the appointment or do not attend a scheduled appointment without notice, you will be charged the full price of the session. Should we need to cancel or reschedule an appointment with you, we will endeavour to provide you with as much notice as possible.

Payments and Insurance

Invoices are to be settled no later than 7 days from the date we issue your invoice to you.  If your treatment is being covered by private healthcare insurance and your insurance policy does not cover the full cost of each session, you will be responsible for the payment of any fees not covered by your policy. It is your responsibility to check with your insurers of any amount that will not be covered by them.

Confidentiality

As Chartered and Registered Psychologists, Altum Associates adhere to clear and strict guidelines on confidentiality.  Any information disclosed to us (including case notes, records, and psychological test results, training materials) is confidential and cannot be disclosed without direct consent. If there is any need to disclose information to another professional (for example a medical doctor, lawyer, pastor or third party billing source), you will be consulted first.  Please be aware, however, that it is standard practice to provide reports to consultants and referrers about assessments, treatment plans, and treatment progress.  It is important to inform your therapist should there be any specific information you do not want shared with those professionals involved in your care.

There are some legal limitations to confidentiality. We are obligated to break the boundaries of confidentiality should your therapist believe are at risk of harming yourself or others. We may also be obligated to break these boundaries should we be liable to court proceedings for not disclosing information.

We will discuss limitations of confidentiality at the start of any contract and there will be ample opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you might have.
