DR. KATHERINE KALINOWSKI

Dr. Katherine KalinowskiKatherine is a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a chartered member of the BPS as well as the Division of Counselling Psychology.

Katherine comes to us from the United States, where she graduated with an honors degree in Philosophy from the
University of New Mexico in 2008. She grew up in the culturally diverse and artistic environment of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she embraced the outdoor lifestyle of the American South-West.

Katherine moved to London in 2008 in order to explore Europe from its doorstep. She soon embraced her lifelong passion for personal growth and empowerment by embarking on the academic and developmental path to a career in Psychology. Following a Masters Degree in child development, Katherine completed her Doctorate at City University.

Katherine has a diverse clinical background including both NHS and private practice within the specialised fields of eating disorder service, substance and alcohol misuse, and the supporting of young people struggling with a variety of complex mental health concerns. Aside from these specialities, she has experience treating anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties and a range of mental health issues with impacting adults, young people, couples and families. Working from an integrative perspective, Katherine focuses on the individual’s needs, tailoring her clinical approach to promote a deepening self-awareness and thereby enhancing the patient’s ability to move towards his or her therapeutic goals. She aims to work collaboratively and from a holistic perspective taping into the client’s innate strengths and developing a compassionate therapeutic relationship. Katherine’s training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, CBT-E, RO-DBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, and Systemic Therapy guide the development of interventions designed to support the client’s goals both personal and therapeutic.

Katherine is acknowledged by her peers for her ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and coupling her passion for personal growth and wellness with a sense of humour and zest for life.
