Dr Kathryn Pemberton


Dr Kathryn Pemberton is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and has over ten years’ experience working in the field of mental health. She works with both adolescents and adults, and has experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties. Kathryn has a special interest in eating disorders and was Clinical Lead for the Eating Disorders Service in the Lancashire Care NHS Trust for 8 years.

Kathryn is an integrative practitioner, and is trained in Compassion Focussed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and CBT-E.  Her passion, however, is  Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).  She is an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist (CAT) and supervisor and often uses CAT as her main therapeutic approach.

Kathryn understands that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is key in eliciting change, and that a trusting, authentic and collaborative relationship is a fundamental aspect of therapy. Kathryn also enjoys teaching and is an Associate Lecturer for Lancaster and Liverpool Universities, specialising in eating disorders and CAT.

On a personal note, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her cat, Spook and her guinea pig, Boo.
