Sara Baig originally completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Sheffield. Following this she completed her master’s degree at UCL. She is currently a trainee counselling psychologist in her second year of training at City, University of London. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, and in-training member of the Division of Counselling Psychology.
She has studied person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural approaches and has gained experience working with people with a variety of psychological and emotional difficulties and diagnoses, including depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, complex trauma, and psychosis. Rather than working with a singular modality, Sara values adopting an integrative, person-centrered approach to ensure that her clients are at the heart of therapy.
Sara is passionate about tackling mental health stigma, especially in communities she serves as a member of. She has a particular interest in the impact that neurodevelopment conditions have on the experience and presentations of mental health conditions, including eating disorders.
On a personal note, Sara is ethnically Indian and was born and raised in Dubai. She spends her spare time reading, watching football or simply binge-watching reality tv.
