Throughout his clinical career, Darek has worked in diverse settings and with a wide range of patients. He was priviliged to work at the prestigious Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw. There, he worked with a multidisciplinary team specialising in addiction, co-addiction, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. He also developed his individual and group psychotherapy skills, and honed his interpersonal approach to psychotherapy while integrating it with CBT, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma therapy.
In addition to his work within the hospital, Darek began working privately in 2007. He is first and foremost an integrative therapist, and schema therapy allows him the opportunity to work in this way. He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT), and Mindfulness, and will integrate these into his practice when these best suit the needs of his clients. Most importantly, he sees psychotherapy as a privilege to join his clients on a journey to clearly identify their needs and grow to become people they really want to be.
On a personal note, Darek is an easygoing, tolerant, and very much family-oriented person. He has been married for 25 years and is the father of two teenage daughters. On the creative side, he plays the Saxophone and practices Tai Chi.
