Tamina obtained her BSc in Psychology from King’s College London. Following this, she worked in CAMHS Crisis, working with a variety of clinical conditions, including eating disorders. Throughout this time, she worked closely with the in-patient units and supported young people and their families with life-threating disordered eating behaviours. During this time she applied CBT and DBT therapies.
She subsequently went to Edinburgh to complete a COSCA Diploma in Counselling (Interpersonal Dialogue) and a Master of Counselling. Her training focused on psychodynamic and person-centred therapies. In Edinburgh she worked for a number of local charities and organisations where eating disorders and disordered eating were common issues. In order to best support her clients, she continued to educate herself in a number of therapeutic styles, including Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Therapies.
Growing up within two cultures (German and Thai), Tamina values the importance of culture and context. She aims to offer a welcoming and safe therapeutic space for individuals from a diversity of backgrounds, and welcomes clients that identify as marginalised. Tamina places value on current issues surrounding difference and diversity and has conducted research for the University of Edinburgh concerning identity and belonging.
Tamina is fluent in German and happy to accommodate therapy in German.
